Spike is in the ocean!


Hello, fellow gamers and developers.

This is a post about the design idea behind the game "Spike the Swordfish", and the ones that we thought to develop for later. 

Currently, the game is just a playable demo to showcase the beautiful underwater world, full of conches, fishes, seagrass, etc. However, the presence of garbage in the ocean has changed the environment, converting it into a stagnant and dirty place for sea creatures to survive. Spike, our main character, is seeking to bring the ocean back to its original purity, even if at the cost of its own life. 

Gameplay-wise, the type of game we originally wanted to make is a mobile-casual game, with similar mechanics such as Subway Surfers's 3rd person runner gameplay, but divided into different levels and difficulties. In the game, through environment design and textual guides, players will also be able to learn the types of ocean pollution and the ways to avoid creating them. All in all,  we want it to be a mix of game genres such as racing, story-driven, and educational games.

As for now, the game only offers 2 introductory levels, with no plot, but only mechanics. In the near future, we will add more levels to it. Feel free to contact us for support and ideas!
